For the past 25 years, MiniLaps has been one of the largest fundraisers at The Little Light House annually. Families of the LLH students will raise money for their child’s year at school. This year, MiniLaps will be held September 25th, 2010 at The Little Light House. Please help our children by making a donation and help them meet their goal! Hi, my name is Kayden Pilcher, and I am perhaps the luckiest little boy who ever lived. I say that because I have had more of God's Grace and the love of more people than anyone I know.

I was born on a stormy, rainy night three years ago during a thunderstorm to beat all thunderstorms. My beautiful mother barely made it to the hospital and my brother Kalob and I arrived with a huge BOOM!!! (I am STILL scared of thunnder!) We weighed one pound eleven ounces and barely survived the night, much less the next six months. My anxious daddy was in boot camp and I didn't even get to see him for months. My brother and I were in adjoining bassinetts in the luxury suites of Eastern Oklahoma Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at St. Francis, where we received expert life saving care for the first few months of our lives.

When we came home we faced many obstacles but God was not through with us, and he has always provided many angels to watch over us. He has worked so many miracles in both our lives. With my daddy being a Sargeant in the United States Army, we have been in many states in our short lives. In fact, my twin brother Kalob is in Germany right now. I, by a miracle of the Lord, remained in Tulsa when my number came up to attend the Little Light House.

I could go on for days about what I have been through medically but all of that seems trivial now that I can walk. I began walking shortly after my third birthday and today walking is the most important thing in my life, right behind seeing everyone in my life who loves me and prays for me, including my three sets of grandparents who get to see me and my parents who are now in Germany with my sweet twin brother Kalob, as well as my many aunts, uncles, and cousins. I am blessed with a great family whose love is unconditional and unmatched.

I hope that the Little Light House goes on forever. It is just one more bit of evidence of God's love for children like me. When I am at school, I am one of His sheep, and the staff are able to help me learn to walk better and to talk, and to interact with other kids. I can't use my right hand very well right now, I want to use it but it just won't open up and work like I want it to, even as hard as I try. The angels at Little Lighe House are working with me on getting it to work, and someday I am going to be able to wave to you with BOTH HANDS, and pray with BOTH HANDS!!! I have constant help and encouragement, and I am able to shine.

I know the economy is bad and times are tough financially, but the Little Light House needs your help. It relies completely on donations to work its miracles. If you can send even a dollar or two to my benefit, please do. If you cannot send money, simply pray that the money will come. That will help me and my many friends at school and ensure that the doors will always be open for children like me. Thank you for all your love and support.
