The Little Light House is a Christian Developmental Center serving children with special needs from birth to six years of age. Laps for Little Ones is the longest-running annual fundraiser at the Little Light House, and has been an annual event for 31 years. Runners who compete at Laps for Little Ones raise money to help Little Light House students continue to receive tuition free therapy and special education services. Hi Friends,
On October 24th I will be participating in Laps for Little Ones, a one hour walk/run to benefit the children of The Little Light House. I have been working at Little Light House for two years and have found that I really enjoy the work...I love the kids, and the staff!
Just in case you aren't aware here is some information about The Little Light House:
It is a non-denominational Christian school which provides services for infants and children with special needs up to six years of age.
Our mission statement is 'To glorify God by improving the quality of life for children with special needs, their families, and their communities'.
We currently serve 64 children, 8 students in 8 classrooms with 3 staff members in each class.
We have a waiting list of 125 children.
We offer occupational, physical and speech therapy. We also have a vision specialist and a nurse.
All services are provided tuition free. Families of children with special needs are able to receive quality services at no charge, a cost of over $17,000 per child.
