Laps for Little Ones is the longest-running annual fundraiser at the Little Light House, and has been an annual event for 31 years. Runners who compete at Laps for Little Ones raise money to help Little Light House students continue to receive tuition free therapy and special education services. Please support our Laps runners by helping them reach their goal!

Dear Family and Friends,
I am currently beginning my 23rd year as a staff member of The Little Light House in Tulsa, Oklahoma. It’s been a blessing and I have had many wonderful opportunities during my season here. Not only have I taught in the classroom for most of that time, I have been Director of the Bible-Based curriculum project which is nearing readiness for publication and have traveled overseas as presenting mission team member several times now.
As most of you know, The Little Light House is a preschool serving children with special needs, such as Down syndrome, Autism, Spina Bifida, Cerebral Palsy, etc. We are a 501c3 non profit organization and operate tuition-free. Each child receives physical, occupational, speech, and vision therapy as well as teaching from certified special education teachers. It would cost each family well over $17,000 a year if they did have to pay, but instead we receive private and corporate donations to keep our doors open. We don’t receive any government or United Way funding, so all of our donations are from individuals who believe in and are passionate about the mission of the Little Light House: “To glorify God by improving the quality of life for children with special needs, their families and their communities.â€
There are over 100 children on the waiting list, and recently the land next door was purchased so that we can expand our facility and provide services for twice as many children at an earlier age. Currently, the wait is over two and a half years. Sometimes children do not get to come at all because by the time they reach the top of the list they have passed the age limit. This is truly heartbreaking, but we will be opening more classrooms once the funding is raised!
We have just completed one of two of our most exciting fundraisers, MiniLaps. It’s a great event where we celebrate each of our kids as they take one lap around the small track behind our school. They take their lap in wheelchairs, walkers, or walking around the track by themselves. It really is a celebration of milestones, a wonderful time for the children, parents and staff. And Laps for Little Ones is right around the corner. This fun run is October 24th and is held at Cascia Hall where the staff and runners (who actually run) get sponsors and raise money. This year our staff has decided to come together to try to raise $20,000 to go towards Laps for Little Ones this fall. I am sending this letter out to 25 people, asking that each person give $25 so I can do my part to help our staff reach the goal. Hope you can help!
If you would like to support our organization, you can donate through this website - just simply click on the Donate Now button. All donations are tax deductible. If you have never been to the Little Light House, I would LOVE for you to come and see what I do. This is truly a wonderful organization that I love showing off. We have a Guest Luncheon coming up on October 28th from 10:30-12:00. You will get a tour and a complimentary lunch, and you will get to hear from a parent about their child. If you would like to come please call the receptionist at 664-6746 and she would be happy to reserve a seat for you.
Thank you for taking time to read this letter and bless you. I love you all and look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,
Gloria Cardamone
