The Little Light House is a Christian Developmental Center serving children with special needs from birth to six years of age. Laps for Little Ones is the longest-running annual fundraiser at the Little Light House, and has been an annual event for 31 years. Runners who compete at Laps for Little Ones raise money to help Little Light House students continue to receive tuition free therapy and special education services. Please support our Laps runners by helping them reach their goal!

Welcome to the Staub and Steed Team Little Light House Laps for Little Ones Donation Page.
Dear family, friends and soon to be friends,
We are on the run and we need your help! The team of Staubs & Steed has a goal and we really need each of you to help us reach it. I may have gotten ahead of myself so let me backup and tell you a little bit about what we are doing. By the way, this is Chris Staub.
I have been the school nurse at The Little Light House now for about 2 months and I am not exaggerating when I say it has been life changing! I have never been a part of something so truly motivated by love and bringing glory to our heavenly Father. Let me tell you just a bit about what The Little Light House is and what we do there. The Light House is a developmental center for children with special needs. Established in 1972, it has faithfully and ceaselessly served children and their families in the Tulsa area for 37 years. What is most amazing is that it has been able to maintain excellence in all that is done as a completely TUITION FREE school. It is through the faithful prayers, generous giving and an amazing volunteer base that The Little Light House has been able to shine as a beacon in this world.
This is where you come in, Linda Steed, Emily Staub, my 10 year old daughter, and I will be running as a team on Oct 24th at the major fundraising event known as Laps for Little Ones. What I am asking of you is your prayers that this event will be the most financial successfully in of the Light House’s 37 year history. We have set a big goal for ourselves of $5000.00 dollars but we serve a BIG GOD and I believe we can meet and exceed this goal. Please pray and believe with us and come out on Saturday and cheer on the team of Staubs & Steed!
Hi, this is Linda Steed.
"Time flies when you are having fun." That is an old saying that I have heard all my life. It certainly does apply to working at The Little Light House, literally. It is hard for me to believe I have been here 12 years and 10 months as of 0ctober 1, 2009. Time has flown and I have loved every minute of it.
The children are amazing. I have had the privilege of watching their development over the years and it has given me a much deeper understanding and a truly deep awe of our amazing Heavenly Father. It is a true blessing to see the complexity of human development and to have the privilege of participating in their development both directly and indirectly.
Many of the children are captured forever in my memory, but space allows me to share only one story. School had been in session for about two months. There was one precious two-year-old girl who was not yet walking. She had been pretty much a spectator and was very content to sit and watch everyone else. We really wondered how we could get her to become more of a participant in her world.
This particular day I was helping in her class at lunch time and I caught a glimpse of her out of the corner of my eye. She was studying everyone else in the room, particularly the adults. I observed her looking at the little girl on her left, and then looking at her teachers, then her friend, then at the teachers again. When she was sure no one was paying attention to her I saw her bend forward slightly and slip her left hand under the table. She slowly and causally moved her little hand towards her neighbor and then at the most optimal spot, reached up with her little fingers and quickly stole a cookie from her friend's plate. She pulled it under the cover of the table just as quickly and bought the cookie back to her lap. She checked out the room to be sure she had not been caught, then ducked her little head down and enjoyed her ill gotten gain. I was very surprised and overjoyed. She was a participator; she just needed the right motivation. Where else can one celebrate the orneriness of little children?
The Little Light House is now 37 years old. Many children with developmental delays have been given the opportunity to develop to the maximum of their potential and become participators in their world through TLLH. If you are able, please help us continue to give many more precious little ones this same opportunity. You may click on the link below to give online, or mail a check to The Little Light House; 5120 E. 36 Street; Tulsa, OK 74135. You may also volunteer in the classrooms or in the administration areas.
