Hello Everyone!

I am writing you about this wonderful school I am so blessed to be working for. Our school is The Little Light House, a non-profit Christian developmental center that serves children with special needs from birth to six years old. We accept no United Way or Government funding, we rely 100% on the community for donations to operate.

Our next fundraiser is Laps for Little Ones on October 24, 2009 at Cascia Hall Preparatory School.

It is my personal goal to raise $5000 for our incredible kids.

As a staff member here at The Little Light House I am honored to be sponsoring the students in my class THE GREEN ROOM! Each child is so very wonderful with great things to learn and do throughout the entire school year.

If our students had to pay for TLLH services of Teachers and Therapists the cost would exceed $20,000 a year per student. We provide Speech, Occupational, Physical and Vision Therapy here. Teachers are trained to accommodate for students with needs that range from Severe to Mild in all areas. All of this is at no cost to our families we serve, our school is a tuition free school.

We have crazy fun days like “Muddy Pigs” where we are the pigs and we play at the table with yummy chocolate pudding. We learn about colors, letters, sign language, music, manners even potty training. That is a big smiley face from the parents! Music is a very important part of each day, so many children learn their first words by singing songs. We wear wigs and march around and of course we cook every week. Cooking is a fun way to learn fine motor skills as well as taking turns and we eat what we make!

Most importantly we teach our children about God, how to pray and that they are very special loved people. We learn about the Bible through our Bible Based Curriculum. So many stories with so many things to learn.

Every penny helps, so off I go to train for the run for Green Class!
