The Little Light House is a Christian Developmental Center serving children with special needs from birth to six years of age. Laps for Little Ones is the longest-running annual fundraiser at the Little Light House, and has been an annual event for 31 years. Runners who compete at Laps for Little Ones raise money to help Little Light House students continue to receive tuition free therapy and special education services. Please support our Laps runners by helping them reach their goal!

Dear friends and family,
I hope this letter finds you all well! The school year is in full-swing and amazing things are happening here at the Little Light House. Every day I realize more and more how blessed I am to be a part of this ministry, and my kiddos never cease to amaze me! They are so beautiful- a shining reflection of the love, beauty, and devotion of Jesus Christ.
This year, I have been especially moved by one student who has made tremendous gains in just a few months. Nicky is one of my beauties who came to the Little Light House non-verbal, meaning that by age 6 he had never spoken a word. He was often frustrated, and had trouble sitting and attending to group activities. The staff of the Little Light House had recommended a ‘talker’ for Nicky- a computer-like device that would say the words that Nicky wanted by pushing the buttons. Nicky’s insurance would not pay for the talker, but his mom decided it was worth the investment and purchased it herself. At just over $8,000, this is a testament to a mother’s love and selfless devotion to her son. As Nicky’s mom puts it: “it was the best investment we have ever made.†Since acquiring the device, Nicky has learned to use it to communicate and this has cut down on his frustration and lack of attention. But perhaps the most beautiful part is that Nicky is now saying words! Imagine hearing your baby’s voice for the first time at age 6! It is so sweet to hear the sound of his voice and I can only imagine how his mother feels when he talks to her. Beautiful!
She has mentioned that without the Little Light House, she would have never known that this device existed. That is why I am proud of the Little Light House and the work we do here. Services are provided to our families free of cost, and lives are changed. We are dedicated to “glorifying God by improving the quality of life for children with special needs, their families, and communities.†We are also dedicated to remaining a faith-based organization, relying solely on grants and donations. We receive no federal or United Way funding. It is so much more exciting to depend on the Lord, because He never fails and He is really creative ïŠ
Would you donate to this amazing school? We have a fundraiser coming up called Laps for Little Ones and the staff is having a friendly competition to see who can raise the most money. Help me win! Actually, it’s the kiddos that win. So thanks in advance for doing it.
Thank you and may the Lord richly bless you,
Megan Faylor
