For the past 25 years, MiniLaps has been one of the largest fundraisers at The Little Light House annually. Families of the LLH students will raise money for their child’s year at school. The Little Light House is a non-profit Christian developmental center that serves children with special needs from birth to six years old. With no government funding, they rely 100% on the community for donations to operate. With your donation to MiniLaps, you can help a child reach their maximum potential.
It`s only been one year since my last Mini-Lap at my school. If you ask Mon and Dad it`s been longer than that,I have grown so much. I am starting my last year at “The Little Light Houseâ€. My parents would like me to tell everyone about my school. Did you know that it is a school for kids with special needs. The grown-up say it`s real important for us to start learning early. There`s even a list of kids waiting to come to my school…that`s how great it is. We have special teachers and therapists that help me learn what I need to know. Some of the kids at my school need special equipment to help them learn and we all love the toys made especially for us. Everyone is so nice and we have lots of fun together. I wish everyone could go to school with me. Even now the people who run my school are working very hard to double the size of my school to help even more kids like me.
It costs a lot of money to get all the things we need at our school. Some schools make the Moms and Dads pay for school…but not mine. I get to go there for free! All of the money we get comes from individuals and private donations.
The theme for this year’s event is “It`s a Small World.†I will have to help Mon and Dad make my costume for me to do my lap around our track. My goal is to take my lap on my own, I have worked so hard this last year to leave my walker behind and walk around the track on my own!
I need people to sponsor me when I take my lap, so I can help my school. If you would like to make a donation, you can give a check to my Mom or Dad (made out to The Little Light House) before Tuesday, September 16th. You can also send it in the mail or you could go to our website, www.littlelighthouse.org, where you can learn all the great thing about our school. Make sure you tell them my name so will they know that you are sponsoring me.
