For the past 25 years, MiniLaps has been one of the largest fundraisers at The Little Light House annually. Families of the LLH students will raise money for their child’s year at school. This year, MiniLaps will be held September 25th, 2010 at The Little Light House. Please help our children by making a donation and help them meet their goal! Hello Everyone,

This is Emma Laine and I want to share some of her story with you. She was special to me before she was even born! There are not adequate enough words to convey how much I love this little girl. She seems to have that affect on all that cross her path. Emma is special to all the Dr.’s and nurses who lovingly took care of her before, during and after her open heart surgery. She is very special to her Mom, and Dad, big Brother, her Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. She even attracts the attention of total strangers. All are drawn near by her sweet, angelic face and spirit.

In May of 2006, Emma was placed on a waiting list at The Little Light House. It is finally her turn; she is now a student of TLLH. TLLH is a school in Tulsa for kids like Emma, who have special needs. They have teachers, and therapists who are specially trained to help the children learn the things they need to know. We all know that the learning process starts as soon as a child enters this world. So, the sooner children, like Emma, can go to TLLH, the quicker they can be “all that they can be”.

One of the greatest and most unique things about TLLH is that they don’t charge the parents of children like Emma tuition. All the services are provided free of charge. TLLH relies completely on donations from private donors like you and me and corporations. They receive no money from the United Way or the government, and as you might imagine, it is very costly to operate a special school like this.

You can help me; help Emma, and all her friends at TLLH by sponsoring Emma in the upcoming “Mini-Laps” race. She gets to walk around the track at her school one time along with all her little friends-some of which will run or walk, some will ride bikes or scooters and some will ride in their wheelchairs or wagons. I hope you can come watch her and her friends on September 26th.

She needs people to sponsor her when she makes her lap. Doing so will help insure that The Little Light House can continue to help Emma and all the other special children. (Even those waiting patiently for their turn to attend the school.) If you would like to make a donation, you can click on the "Donate Now" link. Youc an also give a check to Emma’s parents (made out to TLLH) before Tuesday, September 22. You can also send it in the mail or go to our website www.littlelighthouse.org. Make sure you note on the memo line Emma Wolf’s name so TLLH will know you are sponsoring her. Because her school is a 501(C)(3) organization, your contribution is tax deductible.

Thank you very much for supporting Emma’s school!!! KJ
