For the past 25 years, MiniLaps has been one of the largest fundraisers at The Little Light House annually. Families of the LLH students will raise money for their child’s year at school. The Little Light House is a non-profit Christian developmental center that serves children with special needs from birth to six years old. With no government funding, they rely 100% on the community for donations to operate. With your donation to MiniLaps, you can help a child reach their maximum potential.
My name is Caileigh Tupas. I'd like to tell you something about a special place called The Little Light House. Inside you'll find it full of really cool teachers and therapists that are faithful in helping children with special needs like me. There are toys, furniture and equiment made to help us learn and grow that you would not find in any other schools.
Unfortunately, these things cost a lot of money. My Mom and Dad say it's really important for us to start learning early.
Unlike other places, my school does not charge moms and dads so I get to go there for free! We don't get any money from the government. Up until now, we are still going strong becasue of individual and corporate donors. Istn't that amazing?
There is this Laps for Little Ones where grown ups and older children from Tulsa who love us run laps for one hour. I don't think my little feet can handle that. It's a good thing my school has "Mini Laps" that's just right for me. I get to go around the track one time while my friends and family cheer me on. Some of my friends will ride their bikes, scooters, wagons or wheelchairs. Hope to see you there on September 26th as we strut our stuff!
I need people to sponsor me when I make my lap. For me, it's one of the hardest things to do but this is the best thing I could do to help my school.
