For the past 25 years, MiniLaps has been one of the largest fundraisers at The Little Light House annually. Families of the LLH students will raise money for their child’s year at school. This year, MiniLaps will be held September 25th, 2010 at The Little Light House. Please help our children by making a donation and help them meet their goal! Welcome to Justin Navarrete's Little Light House Mini Laps for Little Ones page!
Hello Everybody, Justin Here!
I am four years old. I was born with Down syndrome. When I was one year old I had major heart surgery. The doctors called my recovery a miracle. It is about miracles that I want to tell you about today. Miracles happen in my School, The Little Light House.
The Little Light House is a Christian school for kids with special needs. I am starting my second year and I can’t wait! I got teachers and therapists that help me a lot to learn. It is a loving environment and lots of fun too! My parents are very excited because in my first school year I learned to walk, ride a bicycle and I am talking more than ever! I enjoy playing the guitar and dancing. One day I want to play a real guitar!
My school does not cost me anything thanks to the help of generous people. The school does not get help from government or from United Way. It all comes from private donations. My school is beautiful: we have all we need to learn; from equipment to modern facilities and many experts that know all about special kids like me.
I’m too little to have a job to give money, but you can help me raise money for my school! We are having a big race in my school. They called it Mini Laps. Last year I rode in a wagon but this year since I can walk now I will be running my lap dressed as a scarecrow! I am looking forward to it! My friends will be there, too. It is so much fun, I hope you can come and watch me on September 25!
I need people to sponsor me when I make my lap, so I can help my school. If you would like to make a donation, you can click on the "donate now" link or give a check to my parents (made out to TLLH) before Tuesday, September 22nd. You can also send it in the mail. Make sure you tell them my name so they will know that you are sponsoring me. Because my school is a 501(c)(3) organization, your contribution is tax deductible…whatever that means!
Thank you very much for supporting my school! Justin
